I am looking for the translation to the Sheila Chandra song- En Mireal del Penal. I noticed someone else posted the same request but it was in a 'reply' message, and since it was not a new message, I thought it may have been overlooked. I thought I would give it another chance. Anything would be appreciated. In Grace, Nari |

Message | Hi Joe,
Sorry, I just saw your reply. I'm afraid the only thing I know about this song is that it is in Shiela Chandra's CD. I did the translation based on the lyrics you posted (and for which I was searching--thanks--since I couldn't really understand what Shiela was singing.)
Cheers, Miguel

Message | That looks like an automated translation, which lost some of the beauty of the words.
Here is another version
Through the bars of my jail Through the bars of my jail Peeking through, night and day And set in her rosebush And set in her rosebush A rose bloomed And set in her rosebush And set in her rosebush Ah, a rose bloomed
From the power of seeing the rose I felt affection towards her. I loved her like a goddess I loved her like a goddess Oh For her ermine whiteness
I wanted to flee the prison Breaking my sentence But I saw the rose suffer But I saw the rose suffer oh Withering from pain
And not to feel its cries I desisted in my evasion I remained a prisoner behind the bars I remained a prisoner behind the bars Of that sad prison.
