Gustav Mahler had an enormous impact in the musical world. Which of his symphonies is your favorite and why? |

Message | I'm a jazz fan, so I like most na Uri Caine project - "Gustav Mahler in Toblach" - it's a selection of Mahler's works performed from a big band at a composer's festival, and starting with "Funeral march". It is fabulous!

Message | The first one to come to my mind is the Second Symphony. It is an almost realistic description of the spiritual ascension of the soul from despair and struggle to bliss and eternity. The Fourth is beautiful, poetic and very caracteristic, too. And the First, of course. We should relisten more to the Eighth. |
