I discovered Pärt's music two years ago by his Passio DNJCh Secundum Joanem (Hilliard Ensemble) and it was no possibility to turn back, couse there is no way back.
Whatever i would say more it will be needless.

Today He is my most loved contemporary composer. Moreover, i love ancient music same: renaissance and baroque [tribute to Jodi Savall].

I just want to say that there is no art more keeping alive than Music and glory to Those who make It alive.

//Borderland Foundation adjudge to Arvo Pärt title:
//Man of Borderland 2003 during international meet called:
//"Initiation into triad: Arvo Pärt's ars musica & ars viva."
// [Sajny, Poland Nov2003]

I'm Polish with bad english lessons :)

Message   From many versions of Fratres the most touching me is for violin piano and percussion with Kremer and Jarret.
Passio was only an introduction but i must say that choral compositions, not only Parts, have more to say, its only my opinion. Just like Arvo said, Human voice is the best instrument of all. Arvo knows how to use it. If Youre interested by Parts music you probably have heard his monumental compositions like Miserere, Litany, Te Deum or Sarah Was Ninethy Years Old, without any word but all the time singing. If you dont You should. His Missa Syllabica or Berliner with organ with it's minimalistic construction is so deeply moving that sometimes i catch myself on sharing tears.

Message   dear Rollson, I agree with you that once you have heard mr Part's music, you cannot go back. Do you only like his choral music? I am crazy about his FRATRES, especially about the violin, strings and percussion version.
Keep in touch if you like.
Guido. (from Italy)
