Message | Is 'O Melissokomos', 'The African Woman', 'The Beekeeper', 'L'Apiculteur', 'The Return', 'Il Volo', and 'L'Africana' the same score by Eleni Karaindrou? And if so where could I get a copy here in Phoenix, Arizona? I love Eleni Karaindrou's music! The only other composer that touches my soul as her music does is Johannes Brahms! I can't get enough of her music. It is wonderful! |

Message | Hi oana...I'm glad that you liked the music. I can assure you that Eleni is a magnificent composer. Sensitive and elegant writing skills.
Now, about "The Beekeeper" (in greek, with latin characters, is spelled "O Melissokomos"), I did some research and I found a place where you can get it (although it's a bit over-priced): http://www.blowup.gr/browse.php?SCREEN=detail&detail_id=46111 .
You can also find it cheaper through here (http://www.7plus7.gr/basket.asp?action=del&item=8854&count=1), but the site is in greek and you'll probably have trouble dealing with the whole procedure...so better phone them (+30 1 3214032) regarding your request, since they don't have an email address in the site.
Also from the first site you can get the 5CD Boxset (http://www.blowup.gr/browse.php?SCREEN=detail&detail_id=31644) which comes at 56E approximately. It includes 5 soundtracks of Eleni, "The Beekeeper" being one of them.
I would truly suggest you listen to "Trojan Women" (http://www.ecmrecords.com/ecm/recordings/1810.html) and "Eternity And A Day" (http://www.ecmrecords.com/ecm/recordings/1692.html)...if you think "The Beekeeper" was divine, you'll be surprised by those two. Amazing soundtracks!
Hope all these help... |
